State of things
Nine Gameweeks have come and gone by. An unusual Premier League year with the pandemic and many wild results later, the title race is still wide open. If you’re new here, first of all, welcome. We’re attempting to leverage the use of data available to understand if we can generate more points than the average player playing FPL.

Quick update for this week. A fairly average week in-terms of results. Somehow, this coming week also seems to have Double fixtures for many teams! Since this is our first year, I didn’t anticipate more than two Double Gameweeks. Could also be a case of pandemic creeping in. Something to watch out for in the future seasons to come.

Gameweek 24 Results
A more interesting Gameweek with some expected results and some unexpected ones. No update was provided for Gameweek 22 as we made no changes to the team to save a transfer.

The Gameweek started off fairly boring, if I must say, with a couple of draws but then picked up. Clear standout winner for FPL managers being anyone who had West Ham, Burnley, Liverpool, or Manchester City. Manchester City, being the standout candidate with 5 goals. Last week, we almost splurged on İlkay Gündoğan but went for Bukayo Saka instead. Not a bad replacement as he too scored 13 points. Gündoğan, on the other hand got 14 points with 2 goals as well. The man just can’t be stopped at the moment.

It was a precarious Gameweek. It could have gone all wrong but thankfully it didn’t. In a significant turn of events, Liverpool saw their long-standing unbeaten home run tarnished by none other than Burnley. Leicester, West Ham and Man City were the only teams that won both their games during the week so managers who held onto them were surely rewarded.
This week also saw the second sacking of the season following Slaven Bilic as Frank Lampard was ousted from the Chelsea managerial post. Expect a shift in results from the Chelsea games.

Gameweek 18 Results
We’ve arrived at one of the pivotal portions of our season. Free Hit. Due to schedule changes, less games are being played over the coming Gameweek and we need to capitalize on this weekend like many others will be.
It’s been a busy 2–3 Gameweeks with game after game, so the expected returns for FPL Managers were all over the place. We too suffered with underwhelming results. However, after a couple of weeks of non-return, we had a decent Gameweek.
